Wae Rebo is a small village located in the heart of Flores mountains 1100 meters above sea level. Wae Rebo is a traditional manggarai village with Mbaru Niang house. Its 7 traditional houses have 5 different levels and are built with a conical shape with wood and grass collected into the Todo forest. Today, only 25 families are living in the heritage village, preserving their indigenous culture. Wae Rebo was rated by the UNESCO in 2012 as one of the best villages in Asia Pacific with the «Top Award of Excellence». Wae Rebo village is famous for coffee, vanilla and cinnamon farming. The village is accessible via a steep pathway, 4h walking distance from the nearest village, Dinthor and 7 hours from Labuan Bajo.
